Radiology and Complete Diagnostics

Synergy Veterinary Imaging Partners is a partner of Hope Advanced Veterinary Center. This referral-based outpatient ultrasound and teleradiology service is located in Vienna and is comprised of a team of board-certified radiologists.

Synergy believes imaging diagnostics should be efficient, accurate and personable. The radiologists work closely with your family veterinarian to achieve the highest level of care for your pet.

A radiograph, or digital x-ray, is a type of photograph that can look inside the body and reveal information that may not be discernible from the outside. The procedure is painless, safe, and completely non-invasive, and uses only very low doses of radiation.

The images captured give our veterinarians and specialists, along with the primary care veterinarians who refer patients to us, the chance to share patient information in a much more time-efficient manner.

Along with radiology, we also have a state-of-the-art in-house veterinary lab where other diagnostic tests are conducted, leading to more immediate treatment.

Diagnostics & Analyzers

In-house analyzers are used to conduct tests that allow us to deliver a quick, accurate diagnosis for your pet's condition. Analyzers can also help us monitor changes caused by health issues.

  • Roche COBAS Integra 400 Plus

This human hospital-grade wet chemistry analyzer has a sample load of up to 45 patients at once. It also has the ability to run not only serum and plasma for clinical chemistry, but also urine, body cavity effusion and cerebral spinal fluid (CSF).

While general chemistries that test for organ function is the primary function of the COBAS, it is also capable of running specialty testing such as Urine Protein: Creatinine ratios, Fructosamine assays, as well as ammonia levels.

  • Heska Hematrue

This veterinary hematology analyzer offers a three-point differential as well as RBC indices and platelet counts. Our laboratory technicians also review each complete blood count (CBC) manually to assess both red cell and white cell morphology, platelet estimates, manual differentials, as well as look for any other abnormalities that can be found on microscopy.

On the occasion that any abnormals are found, our trinocular microscope has the ability to capture images and record live video so it can be shown to both specialists, outside reference laboratories and pathologists to confirm our findings.

  • ProCyte DX

The ProCyte combines the latest and greatest of technologies (flow cytometry, fluorescence, and impedance) to give veterinarians the most accurate results in veterinary hematology available.

It offers a 5-point differential as well as RBC indices, platelet counts and absolute reticulocyte counts and prints out with scatter dot plots.

  • NOVA Biomedical STAT Critical Xpress

The NOVA Biomedical STAT Critical Xpress Analyzer is a consolidated STAT analyzer with up to 20 measured whole blood tests plus other calculated tests on board.

It offers analysis of kidney functions, electrolytes, blood gases, CO-oximetry, and limited hematology. Since it’s a STAT analyzer, sample requirements are minimal and run time is less than two minutes.

  • Wescor Colloid Osmometer

This human analyzer measures Colloid Osmotic/Oncotic pressure. Used in veterinary medicine predominantly by universities and specialty practices, it aids in diagnosing and monitoring of hypoproteinemia.

  • IDEXX Coag Dx

This coagulation analyzer is used to detect coagulopathies stemming from a wide range of disease processes and rodenticide toxicities. While it can be used to initially diagnose an issue, it’s also used to monitor trends in coagulation while the patient is being treated both in hospital and post-discharge from the hospital.
