The veterinary team at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center put on a demonstration at The Dutch School, sparking the interest of the next generation.
Hope’s own Dr. Conor McNeill and Customer Service Representative, Kirstin, visited the 3rd and 4th-grade classrooms at The Dutch School in Bethesda for a demonstration.
The students learned about the role of a veterinarian, how to become one, and how to handle emergencies like broken legs. They practiced splinting their "patients" with a kit of supplies, starting with a pain injection for comfort, followed by applying a splint to stabilize the leg before surgery.
The session concluded with a quiz about animals and veterinarians.
Special thanks to Mr. Jeroen and Mr. Fred for hosting us and to teaching assistant Alette, Dr. McNeill's daughter, for her assistance and ideas!
